Kansas Day

What do you think of when you hear January 29th? I think "Kansas Day!" Maybe it's the kid at heart that still remembers celebrating Kansas Day every year at school. (Seriously, what kid doesn't love an excuse to party at school?) A funny little backstory for you. When the January schedule was being created for the Desgin Team, the question was asked; "What would you like to see in January?" Being deep in the middle of holiday craziness, all I could think of was Kansas Day. As I was the only DT member from KS at that point in time, I think they all thought I might be a little crazy. Therefore I was given the January 29th post as an individual post to share Kansas with you.

This was the fun punch art card I made to share with you:

The sunflower in our state flower. This particular sunflower might not wave in the wind or produce any yummy seeds, but it sure brightens up my living room! Can you guess how many banners are on this card? Please visit my personal blog to find out the answer, find other details about the card, as well as see the inspiration behind it.

Before you go, though, I'd like to share some Kansas trivia with you:

State flower: Sunflower
State bird: Western Meadowlark
State animal: Buffalo
State reptile: Ornate Box Turtle
State amphibian: Barred Tiger Salamander
State motto: Ad astra per aspera (which means 'to the stars through difficulties')
State capital: Topeka

While I colored many a picture of most of those state symbols as I child, you can see why I chose the sunflower for my punch art. Though I'm now on a mission to create a buffalo punch art!

Come back tomorrow. Our cards will MOVE you!

Mark(er) It Up!

Today we've got some marker love to share with you. We love our markers and their many uses. Sure they're great for coloring in an image, but did you know you can stamp with them too? Use your marker to just color the part of the image that you want to stamp, or better yet; use two or three colors and color different parts of your image. Our markers are dual-tipped with a brush tip and a fine tip. This means they're also great for journaling in your scrapbooks.

Everyday Occasions Card Kit

I love the process of creating. The process of sitting down with my supplies and just seeing what the project becomes but sometimes I don't have time for that and I need great cards that don't take a lot of time. Hi, I am Tonya and if you have every felt this way  then I recommend the Everyday Occasions Card Kit. For just $29.95 plus tax and shipping you get the supplies to make 20 cards with envelopes included. This is a great value and the cards are super cut and easy to stamp and assemble. Below are seven of the cards I made with the kit and even after I make them all I will still have supplies left over and I have the stamp set, and the ink too.

For my projects I made them just as they were suggested but you can mix it up and add things. I think this kit would be perfect for a crafty college student. Just add postage stamps and they are ready to write home, plus crafting reduces stress and during finals week who couldn't use a stress relief.

Maybe you are short on space but love to create. This kit is great because it doesn't require a lot of supplies the only things you need besides the kit are adhesive and scissors. It comes packaged in a cute box too! Ready for gift giving.

I love that this kit has embellishments that are fun to try out such as the glimmer paper, Doilies, Buttons and the Arrow Clips plus the Baker's Twine. If you haven't checked out this kit you should and then contact your demonstrator to place your order. If you don't have a demonstrator then one our team members would be happy to help you. Thanks for stopping by our SSINKspiration Blog today and I hope you have a great day!

All the Single Layers

Hi Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration friends!  It's Breelin with Craft-somina Momma...Today I am sharing with you one of the most difficult types of cards for me to create.  Single layer cards.  Sounds simple, right?  Not for this crafty momma...I always want to add a layer or embellishment or something!  But with the latest Countless Sayings 1 & 2 Photopolymer Stamp Sets and a little determination, I was able to pull of a few cute SINGLE LAYER cards.
Those little Sweetheart candies inspired this card...

Love Your Face is something I tell my BFF all the time, so this was created with her in mind :-)

And this one I just had some fun with some of the stamps in the set...it made me happy!

Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Whisper White
Ink ~ Real Red, Bermuda Bay, Coastal Cabana, So Saffron, Blushing Bride, Pool Party, Pistachio Pudding
Stamp Sets ~ Countless Sayings 1 & 2 Photopolymer Stamp Sets

Quick, simple and cute...once I wrapped my mind around NOT using any extra layers or embellishments.

Thanks for stopping by today!  I hope I've INKspired you to CREATE some single layers today!

Happy Stamping!
